I am a trial lawyer. My law firm is dedicated to seeking justice for personal injury victims and their families. Every day, I fight for my clients and their families, many of whom have suffered greatly as a result of driver error, product malfunction, medical malpractice or the negligence of another.

My legal training began long before I attended law school. My father was a trial lawyer. Over the dinner table, he shared stories about the important cases he was handling. The wide-ranging discussions touched on legal strategy, the art of trial advocacy and the responsibility a lawyer owes to his client. At an early age I learned that a good lawyer is dedicated to his clients and committed to solving their problems.

When I arrived at the Emory University School of Law, I brought with me a deep respect for a lawyer's role in the courtroom and in American society. Within a few years of graduation I had developed skills in the handling of complex catastrophic accident cases. As a result, multibillion-dollar companies sought me out to represent them yet I found that my greatest empathy was for the victims of the accidents, not my corporate clients.

In 1999, I changed the focus of my practice. Instead of representing companies, I chose to fight for the rights of those who have been hurt by negligent corporations, individuals, physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers. I understand that the legal process is arduous and that litigation can be frightening.

At Zevan & Davidson , we believe that it is important that our clients receive the personal attention of their lawyers. Therefore we are not a high-volume law firm interested in spending lots of money on advertising, signing up lots of cases and then settling on low offers. Instead, we are selective in the cases we agree to handle. We assume that every lawsuit is going to trial. We are not afraid to enter the courtroom to ensure that justice is done.

My partner, David Zevan, and I are well known in Missouri and Illinois as medical malpractice lawyers. We have handled a wide variety of medical malpractices cases involving a variety of medical fields, including oncology, neurosurgery, infectious disease, internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics, emergency medicine and cardiology. Although each medical malpractice lawsuit is unique, a Zevan & Davidson client can be confident that his or her case will not be the first one involving a specific field of medicine that we have handled.

In addition to medical negligence suits I have handled a wide variety of personal injury cases in Missouri and Illinois involving motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, farming accidents, explosions, building and structure failures, industrial machine accidents, products liability, premises liability and toxic product exposures.

I am also involved in the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the preeminent organization in the state for trial lawyers. I am currently serving a term as a one of MATA's governors, and I am also a member of the association's three-person Amicus Curiae Committee. The committee reviews appellate matters pending throughout the state to determine whether a case's outcome could have a broad impact on Missouri citizens. If so, we file a friend of the court brief to protect the public from a poorly reasoned decision. I'm honored to know that the leaders of MATA have thought so well of my legal abilities that they have asked me to remain in my position year after year. 

Over the past decade, I have frequently lectured on a variety of aspects of trial law. It is a great and humbling honor to be asked to share what I have learned with other attorneys. I have also had the pleasure of speaking to master's-level students at the Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences on the topic of product design, focusing on how to make products safer for the consumer.
