A woman who was discharged from a hospital emergency department without a wheelchair was knocked unconscious with a skull fracture as she tried to get into her car. She won a $5 million verdict after filing a medical malpractice suit.

A jury awarded a $1.2 million in a medical malpractice lawsuit arising from the case of an elderly woman whose physicians failed to diagnose her abdominal pain as a perforated bowel, leading to a delay in treatment and death.

 
 
  $850,000 – Medical Malpractice, Treatment Error
